Ocean Island Inn | Backpackers | Suites seeks a manager to help us continue to operate efficiently, effectively and fabulously!
Ocean Island is a dynamic and engaging work environment where every day is different and where a variety of guests and staff from all over the world converge.
Job Description:
- Working as part of our management team: supervising all aspects of the front desk and dealing with guest relations.
- Working with all areas of our operations: cafe lounge, housekeeping, maintenance, accounting, marketing and computers.
- Hands on position- dealing with day to day issues as well as larger issues.
- Hiring and training of staff.
- Staff scheduling and planning.
- Considerable amount of computer work, including spreadsheets and our property management system.
- Involvement in projects related to ongoing improvements and strategic planning for the business.
- Ample opportunity to learn new skills and gain experience.
Qualifications & Qualities:
Supervisory/management experience in the hospitality industry essential.
The ideal candidate is flexible, well-organised, has a keen eye for detail (but also able to see the ‘big picture’), and has ample initiative. S/he is a multi-tasker with excellent interpersonal skills including exceptional customer service, and a sense of humour! S/he is interested in learning about and being trained in all areas to gain expertise: front desk, cafe lounge, kitchen, housekeeping, purchasing, accounting and marketing.
