Our Funky Guests
It's definitely our guests that make Ocean Island what it is. We get visitors from all over the place - North America, Europe, Asia, Australia, and neighbouring solar systems like Rigel and Tycho. Some of our guests are ultra-creative people, who leave their mark on the hostel in the form of art and music. Some of that stuff has been archived in the Tales of Ocean Island section. We've also archived a bunch of jam sessions on video. Several of our guests have written about their adventures in Victoria - they're archived here: Backpackers' experiences in Victoria. We also accommodate many students who are here temporarily, or who use Ocean Island as a temporary home base while they're looking for apartments, room-mates, etc, and doing their homework.
We welcome people of all ethnicities, ages, religious and cultural backgrounds, sexual orientations, modes of dress - every colour of the rainbow, from conservative to socialist, student to executive, swingers, families, rockstars, grandmothers etc - at our hostel. We do, however, discriminate against homophobes, sexists, creepy people, hard drug users, and other losers. We kick people out when they make other guests feel uncomfortable, so the fun can keep happening :D Since more and more people are using digital cameras, we've started receiving e-mails from our guests, sending us pictures of their adventures! We've posted a bunch of them on the Guest Photo Galleries.
